The Department of Nursing was founded in response to the needs of the world’s nursing manpower and the medical demands of the people in Kinmen. The Department’s motto refers to "professional, caring, empathy, gregarious, and perseverance". In addition to the solid in-class training and clinical practicum, the Department has also collaborated and co-organized academic exchanges with hospitals and health-care institutions in China and the United States. The exchange program prepares students with fundamental nursing skills and basic knowledge about biomedical science. It enhances their skills in communication, cooperation, critical and creative thinking, as well as their ethical literacy, perseverance and accountability, and lifelong learning. All of their training will ultimately help them improve the overall health of their patients.
