Jiumn-Yih Wu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Tsing-Hua University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, in 1987 and 1992, respectively. He was an Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering with I-Shou University from 1996 to 2016.During his service in I-Shou University, he served as the Chairman for the Department of Chemical Engineering during the periods from 2003 to 2006 and from 2014 to 2016. He was invited to be a visiting researcher by University of Minnesota in 1997 and Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2006. In 2016 he was appointed to be the Provost with National Quemoy University (NQU), Kinmen, Taiwan. In 2017 he joined the faculty of the Department of Food Science, NQU, where he is now a Full Professor. He had served as the Provost with NQU for 6 years, from 2016 to 2022. His research interests include fermentation technology, functional microbes development and the bioconversion process. The efforts for years have been devoted to bioprocess engineering which includes fermentation processing, optimized cultivation of microbial organisms and biotransformation of triterpenoids and Isoflavones to be active pharmaceutical ingredients.
