About Department of Chinese Studies


History

The Department of Chinese Studies at NQU was established in Fall 2012 in the wake of the worldwide boom in studying Chinese. Ever since, we have admitted four classes with an enrollment of over 160 students by now.


Objective
The Department of Chinese Studies advances its students in professionalism of Chinese culture, history and language. Our curriculum features a wide variety of courses with a focus on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, accompanied by training in foreign languages and in Chinese literature and history so as to enhance the students’ competence and competitiveness and to meet their career needs on the international job market.

 Curriculum

Students should complete a minimum of 128 credits: Common Course required courses 12 credits + General Education
    courses 16 credits + Required and Elective courses 100 credits.

Students should complete 8 second language credits with only France or only Japanese.
